Issues and Initiatives

The HECB conducts research and analysis and prepares reports on a wide variety of issues related to student access and success.  Other major policy initiatives include developing workforce education need projections and helping coordinate research commercialization projects.

Accountability
The HECB monitors and reports on the achievements of Washington's colleges and universities. The bi-annual Accountability Report tracks performance data such as six-year graduation rates, bachelor's and advanced degree production, high demand degree production, and freshman retention.

Student Access and Success
The HECB works to raise educational attainment by helping develop and advance public policy that increases student access and success.

Higher education institutions throughout Washington engage in a wide range of activities designed to promote and enhance economic development.
