The Foster Care Endowed Scholarship was created to help youths who have been in the Washington state foster care system attend college. Funded through an endowment, which will be matched with private donations, the program will use interest earned to award scholarships at Washington colleges and universities.
The endowment program is currently being developed; student applications are not being accepted at this time.
The Higher Education Coordinating Board is charged with administering the program. The board's duties include:
Foster Youth dream of college too. Some dream of being teachers to help children; others hope to become mechanics, chefs, graphic designers, doctors or nurses. Their dreams are as diverse as the youth themselves, but all share a common requirement: a college education.

Two ways to help:
Donations are tax-deductable and will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the state of Washington. All contributions fund the endowment - no portion of your donation will be used for administrative costs.
