We Help Students SucceedThe Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board Created by the Legislature in 1985, as successor to the Council for Postsecondary Education, the board is charged by state law with representing the "broad public interest above the interests of the individual colleges and universities."
Major functions of the board include:

Advisory CouncilAn Advisory Council, which includes K-12 and higher education leaders, advises the board on carrying out its statutory duties. State Statute - RCW 28B.76
